2008-01-28 [Linderel]: It might have been forgot momentarily as people have been busy with real life and other contests... Apologies for this, we'll try to get the contest wrapped up asap. :)

2008-01-29 [Lady of Lore]: Sorry about that, life interceded unexpectedly. Thanks to those who picked up the slack ^_^

2008-12-04 [Tyrana]: Haha! What is this theme? Mystery Christmas? :P

2008-12-04 [Linderel]: It ain't open yet, so yeah, it's still a mystery :P

2008-12-05 [Tyrana]: Mainstreet says it's open, just so you guys know. It's in the "Christmas contests now open!"-type news article.

*EDIT* I didn't read the fine print! *Blush* Can't wait for this to open!

2008-12-05 [Linderel]: Yeah, I posted that article xD

2008-12-05 [Linderel]: NOW OPEN!

2009-03-12 [Lady of Lore]: Ahhh......*puts up feet and looks around through the past entries*

2009-12-02 [Nioniel]: Oh yay, this should be fun!

2009-12-18 [pixish]: This should be fun ^_^ (repeating the previous poster, but that can't be helped when it's truuuuue :p)

2010-11-25 [Kaimee]: Contest open for 2010! :)

2010-11-25 [Akayume]: (:

2010-12-07 [Marlene'Jacques]: Aw I can't be the only entry :(

2010-12-07 [Flisky]: There are still many days for entries, so I'm sure we'll get a few more in that time. ^_^

2010-12-07 [Marlene'Jacques]: good :)

2010-12-07 [Kaimee]: Deadline extension! :)

2010-12-26 [Artsieladie]: Closed early at 14:42:35, instead of at midnight, Elftown's time?

2010-12-28 [Kaimee]: These things happen, we're very sorry :( Did you have an entry you were trying to submit in time? :)

2010-12-28 [Artsieladie]: Well, yeah, as a matter of fact, because I received a new camera for Christmas and I'm thrilled because it's my first and my very own digital camera, which I've been wanting for ages! (It's an Insignia; 10 Megapixels for those that know about cameras. :P)

One of the very first thoughts that came to my mind was now I would be able to finally do what I've been wanting to do for a long time and this is to contribute to Elftown's Reference Pictures and photography competitions, which I haven't been able 'to' do without having a camera.

Starting out with this Christmas Photography Competition would have been really nice and fitting, since I received my camera as a gift for Christmas, "this" Christmas. But I still have to learn better just how to use it and so I still need some help from my daughter with just how to get the photos off of it onto my 'other' computer, so I can 'choose' which ones I want to put on 'this' computer. Therefore, I needed the extra time for this and since it was closed early, not only was I not able to enter, but I also lost the window of opportunity I needed of my daughter's help to do what I just explained, because since it was already closed early, her help with the process described, she felt was therefore no longer needed, as did I. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was and still am.

This is why I mentioned the fact that it was closed early in a couple different places, hoping that someone would have noticed, but apparently not. In the past the photography section was left open about a week past Christmas to give people the time they may need to put up their photo entries. Why the rush this year to close it so early? Oh well.. Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!

2010-12-28 [Nioniel]: We'd still love to have you contribute to reference pictures! :)

2010-12-28 [Kaimee]: Merry Christmas, that sounds like an amazing present, I'm very jealous! We're very sorry for those who couldn't get entries in for the Boxing day deadline, and I'm very sorry you didn't get a chance to enter something taken with your new camera. Maybe this way you'll have the time to experiment and get really creative and comfortable in the use of the new camera, and you can come up with an amazing entry for the next competition, or the reference pictures as Nioniel mentions above :D

For future reference, if ever a contest is closed before elftown time on the deadline, feel free to post your entry in the comments and ask the moderators if they'll accept the entry. It would need to to posted in the comments before the end of that day (ET time) but sometimes we can try to squeeze an extra entry in :)

As for the early closure, that's my fault entirely :( I had some personal reasons for not being able to get online on Boxing day, and so Silverfire closed the competition at the time she was available to do so.
